Background:
At Bluefields.com, we provide social spaces to amateur football (soccer) teams to allow them to easily organise availability, take payments and socialise online and on mobile.
We are young company with big ambitions to capture an audience in a vertical.
We work closely with our sister company that delivers the technical aspects of bluefields.com.
Our small web technical team is based in Holborn, London, with another 5 developers based offshore in Kandy, Sri Lanka. We’re growing quickly and you can make a real contribution in your work, whilst reaping long-term rewards.
The Holborn offices are shared with other companies with whom you’ll have a lot of regular social interaction (it’s a lively, open space with a diverse group of companies and people).

The Role:
You’ll be exposed to (and learn) a large amount relative to other junior positions.
Responsibilities involve:
• Building planned architectures for Content Managed Sites in Drupal.
• Building planned architectures for Web applications in Zend Framework (with Drupal as an administrative interface).
• Rapidly understanding and problem-solving on unfamiliar LAMP architectures.
• Delegating work to an offshore office.
You will not be expected to architecture a website or web-application, but your input will be taken into consideration and development offered.
This will include work on other projects whilst working closely with our CTO to order to accelerate learning; with the eventual aim of taking the lead in Bluefields.com development.
Required Experience/Skills:
Non-commercial experience is ok but you must show us prior examples of your work.
Above all, A learning disposition is vital; you must always be keen to learn. Intelligence is key.
• 2+ Years prior programming experience with procedural languages.
• 1+ Years prior programming experience with object oriented languages.
• 1+ Years prior experience with HTML, CSS & DOM manipulation.
• Prior experience with PHP.
• Prior experience with SQL.
Useful Experience/Skills:
• Familiarity with any of the following:
o - Drupal.
o - Zend Framework.
o - jQuery and/or Mootools.
o - Linux (especially Ubuntu).
o - Apache
o - MySQL.
o - Java / Objective-C
• An interest in football would be great
• Experience of amateur football would be brilliant.
Salary/Compensation:
• £15-30K, depending on experience.
• Share options and for a suitably motivated individual.
• Must be resident and eligible to work full-time in the UK
